snowflake Christmas tree decoration & wind chime

This collection presents a series of tactile, hand-fabricated works that transform recycled materials into functional art. Each handle embodies a story of renewal, blending playful design with a powerful message about sustainability and thoughtful living. 

Water in all its forms have long been a signature form used in the studio, here recreated using aluminium saved from landfill sites or beach cleanup projects, the sand casting process is the same that I developed for the 'Makers Place' recycling studio that leaves a minimal carbon footprint, giving single-use waste a new life. The last thumbnail in the image gallery is a video of the facility in operation. 

Every piece is a unique casting, individually created from the artist’s original maquette, ensuring no two are alike.  

When two or more snowflakes are hung outside on a tree close together they make a wonderful wind chime. each piece is unique and therefore carries its on resonance and tone which changes with the temperature of the day.
